Looking Back at 2025 as we move into 2026

As another year winds down, I have been thinking about the conversations I have had with many of our employees, clients and prospects that mattered most through 2025. The moments when numbers suddenly told a story that changed a portfolio's fortunes. The relationships that deepened because we were willing to challenge assumptions together.

2025 has not been kind to anyone trying to play it safe. Costs keep rising, markets shifting and easy wins ran out long ago. This said, the financial institutions Profit Insight work with have done more than weather the storm. They have found ways to grow their revenues, protect margins and remain profitable. This does not come from luck. It comes from knowing the numbers inside out and having the confidence to act on insights uncovered from their data.

Companies Making Ground

The retail banks doing well right now all have something in common. They have stopped drowning in reports that no one reads. They have started asking crucial questions such as “what is actually driving revenue growth?” Where are we losing margin without realizing? Which customers are costing us money?

They are not just asking these questions, they are acting on the answers.

Finance teams and operations working side by side in ways they never did before. Leadership is making calls based on insights and shared understanding rather than competing opinions. When management teams look at the same picture, when insights become part of how you work every day instead of something that lands in your inbox once a month, businesses start to move.

Given our profit share business model, our job is not simply to hand over a report and walk away. We are there to assist decision making that generates expected results.

What's Coming

I am not going to tell you 2026 will be easier, it will not. Volatile markets and politically influenced regulatory changes all contrive to make uncertainty the new normal. However businesses that see clearly, that can understand what really drives their customers and profitability, that move fast on solid insightful information, will keep winning. That will not change. This is what we do and will keep doing.
