Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union began in 1935 when eleven employees from Portland Gas and Coke decided to pool their money to form a financial cooperative.
These founding members encouraged other gas company employees to deposit their money into the Credit Union so that their co-workers who needed to borrow could at a reasonable rate.
